Lynn Mundell is a short-short story writer, editor, publisher, mother, bibliophile, swimmer, and managing editor at a large Oakland-based health care organization. Contact her about any of these things. She’s an open book … if it were a mystery.
A fifth-generation Californian who lives in the Bay Area, Lynn moved throughout the state many times as a child. The themes of community, family, and isolation inform much of her creative writing. Her collection of flash fiction is currently looking for a publisher. Ask to see it. Help it find its home.
In 2010, Lynn and Grant Faulkner founded 100 Word Story, an online literary journal dedicated to publishing stories and essays exactly 100 words short. Over the years, they have published hundreds of micros. Their first anthology, co-edited with Beret Olsen, is Nothing Short Of: Selected Tales from 100 Word Story. It was published by Outpost19 in April 2018. Buy it. Read it. It’s good.
Like the old photo in the header? It’s Lynn’s great-grandmother and great-aunt on their horse ranch in Placer County.
